Who is Marc Pilcher? Emmy winner ‘Bridgerton’ dies at 53 from COVID-19
Marc Pilcher was a hairdresser and make-up artist from the United Kingdom. He died due to COVID-19 on Sunday. Pilcher died at the age of 53. According to his agency, Curtis Brown, he was vaccinated twice. Pilcher had no underlying health problems. He recently won an Emmy Award for his work on Netflix’s Bridgerton. Three weeks after receiving a Creative Emmy trophy in Los Angeles, the announcement arrives.
The announcement was made by his agent, family and friends in a statement. The statement was as follows: “It is with the depths of our hearts that we confirm that Marc Elliot Pilcher, Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning hair and makeup designer/stylist, passed away on Sunday after a fight with COVID-19,”. “He added his style and personality to each design, making it glamorous and opulent. He pushed the limits and created work that had never been seen before because his thought process for his works was never limited.”
In order to cross the Atlantic and return to the ceremony, Pilcher took and tested negative for multiple COVID-19 tests. He fell ill shortly after his return and his condition worsened over the weekend. On Sunday he passed away. He was noted for his work on a variety of West End shows, television shows and movies, in addition to “Bridgerton.” For his work in “Mary Queen of Scots” opposite Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie, he was nominated for an Academy Award in 2018.
The Emmy Award for Character Hairstyling and/or Outstanding Period went to Pilcher at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. It was held over two nights on September 11 and 12. All attendees were required to show proof of vaccination and negative COVID-19 test results.

She began acting in productions of Company, Sunset Boulevard, and Aspects of Love. He started his career as a hairdresser, hairstylist and make-up artist. In the early 2000s, he began his work in the film and television industries. He began working with stars like Dame Judi Dench, Shirley MacLaine, Helena Bonham Carter and many more.
Pilcher was nominated for an Academy Award in 2019. He was nominated for his work on the hair of Mary Queen of Scots. Pilcher recently won a 2021 Emmy Award for Outstanding Period and/or Character Hairstyling for his work on Netflix’s Bridgerton. He specifically won this award for the episode “Art of the Swoon.” Three Hollywood Makeup Artist & Hairstyling Guild Awards for his work in Bridgerton, Downton Abbey and Mary Queen of Scots are among his other honors.
A spokesperson for the Television Academy said in a statement: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Marc Pilcher.” He was a much-loved professional whose brilliant talent and creativity will be missed by the theater, film and television communities.”
