Peter Aykroyd, a former SNL cast member and writer and also the younger brother of Dan Aykroyd, has died just one day shy of his 66th birthday.
SNL announced Peter’s death by tweeting Tom Schiller’s 1979 “Java Junkie” comic T-shirt. Peter Aykroyd starred as a coffee addict and Teri Garr as his waitress/distributor.

Dan Aykroyd is a famous Canadian comedian, actor, musician, producer, and filmmaker. He was also an original member of “Not Ready for Prime Time Players” on Saturday Night Live from 1975 to 1979. He also performed with his brother John Belushi in a musical sketch on SNL called Blue Brothers. After which they became a real acting band and later appeared in the movie The Blues Brothers in 1980. He also starred in other movies and sequels like Ghostbusters, Driving Miss Daisy, Soul Man and many more.

Peter was also a fourth generation paranormal investigator in real life, just like his brother. His father, Peter Sr., authored a book in 2009 called “A Ghost Story: The True Story of Seances, Mediums, Ghosts, and Ghostbusters.” He passed away last year at the age of 98.
