Peter Aykroyd, a former SNL cast member and writer and also the younger brother of Dan Aykroyd, has died just one day shy of his 66th birthday.
SNL announced Peter’s death by tweeting Tom Schiller’s 1979 “Java Junkie” comic T-shirt. Peter Aykroyd starred as a coffee addict and Teri Garr as his waitress/distributor.

Dan Aykroyd is a famous Canadian comedian, actor, musician, producer, and filmmaker. He was also an original member of “Not Ready for Prime Time Players” on Saturday Night Live from 1975 to 1979. He also performed with his brother John Belushi in a musical sketch on SNL called Blue Brothers. After which they became a real acting band and later appeared in the movie The Blues Brothers in 1980.
