WATCH: Lil Pump goes unrecognized while standing in massive crowd in Japan
American rapper Lil Pump is coming under fire online due to a viral TikTok video showing him confused at not being recognized while standing in a monster crowd in Japan. The TikTok platform is the number one place for content to go viral on the web, and analysts are sure to be vocal about their views on the app’s latest patterns, trends, and influencers. Lately, a mainstream celebrity stepped up on stage during her trip to Japan, and commentators couldn’t resist the opportunity to laugh at her confused response to the situation happening (or rather, not developing) around her.
American rapper Lil Pump went on a trip to the Land of the Rising Sun, however one particular part of his journey is drawing a lot of attention and became a viral web sensation. In a TikTok clip, Lil Pump stands on a bustling Tokyo street as the crowd swarms around him. On a regular basis, in America, he would presumably be harassed by fans…however, in Japan, he doesn’t seem to be that unmistakable to the average person. Lil Pump seemed to be completely confused by this new development and surprisingly, he threw his hands up in noticeable bewilderment and TikTok couldn’t get enough of the expression on his face.

Lil Pump is freaking out on TikTok in reaction to not being recognized in Japan
Rapper Lil Pump has become the butt of internet jokes after a video surfaced of groups walking impassively alongside him in Japan. Images of the 22-year-old rapper, whose birth name is Gazzy Garcia, who shot to fame in 2017 with the multi-platinum single titled Gucci Gang, went viral on social media on Monday. The allegedly viral clip racked up 2 million views on TikTok, 7 million views on Twitter, and many replies on Reddit’s Sad Cringe forum.
The clip showed Lil Pump standing on a crowded highway and looking bemused that no one stopped to take a picture or sign. The rapper seemed to look around anxiously, eventually giving up and shrugging his shoulders at uninterested bystanders. The images sparked an outpouring of joy across the web, as viewers criticized the artist’s confused response. I love when celebrities are not perceived and you can see that they damage their inner selves, said a user on TikTok. You could stay close to home in a t-shirt that says Lil Pump and you wouldn’t know who he is, said another user on Twitter dragging rapper Lil Pump.

The rapper previously sparked some controversy online when he endorsed Donald Trump for the presidency in 2020, at least, appearing at a pre-election rally where the previous president casually introduced him as ‘Little Pimp.’ Undeterred by the slip, he urged the crowd to make up their minds in favor of Donald Trump and not make up their minds in favor of ‘sleepy Joe’ (Biden). His endorsement of Donald Trump drew scorn from several famous people, including supermodel Bella Hadid, who openly referred to Lil Pump as “irresponsible” and a “loser.”
