Wandavision star Elizabeth Olsen supports Scarlett Johansson in her lawsuit against Disney
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is still in a dilemma over the lawsuit filed by Scarlett Johansson against Disney. Natasha Romanoff, aka Scarlett Johansson, decided to make the case about Black Widow’s launch pad. Her salary payment was based on the box office earnings of the film. Scarlett Johansson accused Disney (House Of Mouse) of violating the original contract of the film. The contract would have given Marvel’s Black Widow an exclusive theatrical release. The Los Angeles Superior Court accepted the lawsuit’s case on Thursday.
The film is released on the OTT platform, Disney+ Premier Access, which affected the overall box office position of the film. The film still managed to set a record for the Covid-19 pandemic, earning $218 million in its opening weekend alone. As of now, Scarlett Johansson was fighting the lawsuit alone. Fans wanted more actors to join Scarlett as they all wanted the movie in theaters. Wanda Vision star Elizabeth Olsen has decided to support Scarlett Johansson’s decision to bring the case.
She also accused the company and says that she will also file a lawsuit. According to the latest report, Vanity Fair reporters asked Olsen about the lawsuit case. Olsen decided to show her support and said that she is very happy and proud of Johansson. While every other co-star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is silent, getting someone’s support was a big deal for Scarlett.
All of this could also lead to a stuttering equation between Elizabeth Olsen and the Disney contract. She can also lose her contract, but helping a friend is what really matters. Scarlett is reportedly angry and embarrassed by Disney’s commanding manner. She felt that the company did not do enough to support Scarlett Johansson. During the pandemic, many Hollywood studios turned to OTT platforms and that has shattered the film’s box office earnings. No other celebrity has stood up to Disney so far, but Olsen was bold enough to do so.
Scarlett Johannson’s agent also accused Disney to tarnish his character. Matt Mueller reportedly believes that Disney will not change its dual launch strategy. The company just wants to be successful and successful and win big shareholders. It will be interesting to see what happens on the Disney side.
