US capital under lockdown due to shooting and external security threats
US Lockdown: On Friday, the US Capitol Police locked down the US
. Capital after shots in the area. Police also confirmed that two policemen were injured after a vehicle tried to pass through a security checkpoint.
All Capitol buildings were being secured “due to an exterior security hazard” and staff were told they could not enter or leave the buildings.
Due to this external security threat, the entire US capitol building has been closed and entry and exit is permitted at this time.
