Tory Lanez’s attorney asks to postpone trial date in Megan Thee Stallion case

According to Rolling Stone lead reporter Nancy Dillon, Tory Lanez did not show up for her pre-trial hearing. It took place in a Los Angeles court on Thursday, July 28.

However, during the proceedings, the rapper’s attorney, Shawn Holley, requested that the original trial date be pushed back, which was set for September 14. He cited the reason as being a “potential conflict” in an unrelated case allegedly involving Megan Thee Stallion.

Dillon took to Twitter to provide updates on Lanez’s hearing. She wrote: ‘Tory did not attend. Her attorney has asked to postpone the September 14 trial in Megan Thee Stallion’s assault case due to possible conflicts with an unrelated case she is on. The judge called it “premature” to suspend the trial. Check back on 8/12 to see if the conflicts are cleared up.’

In other words, the judge neither allowed nor denied the attorney’s request.

Additionally, all parties must return to court on August 12, when the judge will determine whether the disputes have been resolved. They will also decide whether or not the trial should be delayed.
