SZA’s first album, Ctrl, has been out for four years and in that time has made a huge impact on pop culture. Time has not stopped her. SZA continues to break hearts and amaze with her distinctive blend of powerful lyrics, sultry vocals, and poetic raps. “SZA is one of the most exciting and original new voices in music,” said Steve Barnett, president and CEO of Columbia Records.
It’s no secret that the star has been hitting a bit of a slump, both career-wise and personally, following her split from Offset. But all that may be about to change. When a fan asked her if she would perform with Travis Scott
at her next show (they collaborated on the song “Love Galore”), she responded with a request for her phone number. SZA and Travis Scott’s song “Love Galore” was one of Ctrl’s standout efforts. It is the second highest charting song from the album, behind “The Weekend”. SZA and Scott have performed “Love Galore” together on a few occasions.
It’s safe to say that SZA is one of the hottest artists in the music industry right now. After the success of his debut album Ctrl, it looks like the singer will continue to ride the wave with the release of her second album and a summer tour this year. While SZA’s career is at an all-time high, she hasn’t given us any indication that she’ll be quiet any time soon.
After sharing that she would be performing at next year’s Grammy Awards, the ’20 Something’ singer said working on an actual comeback for her debut album ‘Ctrl’ could have her bursting into tears again.
