Sovereign has acquired the UK and Ireland distribution of “The Great Move”, Venice Winner

Recently, the Venice winner ‘The Big Move’ is being selected by Sovereign for UK distribution. Sovereign Film Distribution recently acquired the UK and Ireland rights to The Big Move. It recently won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. Movie screens at the San Sebastian International Film Festival. The film is nominated for the Zabaltegi-Tabakalera Award. It’s also being nominated at the New York Film Festival in September.

All about ‘The Great Movement’-

In this film there is a young man who arrives in the city after traveling seven days on foot. His continued poor health makes him seek alternative methods of rejuvenation. The film shows the collision of nature and urbanization. The cast of the film is made up of Julio Cézar Ticona, Max Bautista Uchasara, Francisca Arce de Aro, Israel Hurtado and Gustavo Milan. Russo one of the directors of the film gives his opinion on the film. He expresses his feelings”, he wanted to make a film about La Paz, with characters that could provide a singular point of view about the city. I found these characters in Elder, a young miner, and in Max, a drifter whose peculiar positions in society allowed me to observe the city as a whole, to see its systems, architecture and changes.

The film is produced by Kiro Russo and Pablo Paniagua at Socavón Cine, Alexa Rivero at Altamar Films, in association with Dan Wechsler at Bord Cadre films, Jamal Zeinal-Zade, Miguel Angel Peñaloza, Andreas Roald at Sovereign Films, and the Doha Film Institute.
