Footage of an Ohio homeowner shooting and killing his daughter’s ex-boyfriend “James Rayl” was caught on a Ring camera.

Dad kills his daughter’s ex-boyfriend during a raid

On Sunday, July 31, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 11 a.m. from a woman claiming her ex-boyfriend was trying to break into her home in Sydney, Ohio.

However, the incident resulted in the death of James Rayl. He was 22 years old.

More recently, television station WHIO-TV 7 obtained new footage of the incident.

In the clip, we can see Rayl banging on the door despite being told to leave by the family inside. Regardless, Rayl ignores the warning and tries to break the front door by hitting it with his shoulder.

Also, at one point, Rayl was warned by Mitch Duckro, his ex-girlfriend’s father, that he had armed himself with a gun.

The door finally opens and Rayl walks in. However, three shots ring out causing Rayl to flee the house.

The outlet further reported that he walked down the porch stairs before walking a short distance and collapsing near a garage.

A sheriff revealed that he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mitch Duckro was not admitted for killing his daughter’s ex-boyfriend

A Shelby County grand jury was held earlier this month where the aforementioned doorbell video was used as evidence. However, the jury voted 8 to 1 against indicting Mitch Duckro.

His decision not to prosecute Duckro is based on Ohio’s ‘Stand Your Ground’ and ‘Castel Doctrine’ laws. It allows the homeowner to use brutal force when he is threatened.

However, James Rayl’w’s family is not happy with the decision. Additionally, they launched a Facebook page demanding justice when it became clear that Duckro will not be held accountable for his actions.

Rayl’s sister, Jessica Marie Colbert, mentioned that her late brother meant no harm that day. Therefore, it is not justifiable that he was killed.

She wrote in a Facebook post: “Mitch Duckro shot him in the back and killed him.”

Colbert added: ‘I hope your days are more miserable than ever. You’re a lousy excuse for being human along with your daughter.

Meanwhile, Shelby County Sheriff Jim Frye stated in a press release: “The sheriff’s office investigated various tips, including those provided by Mr. Rayl’s family during the week, and found no new information.” .
