Redding Bethel Church Co-Pastor Beni Johnson Passes Away After Battling Cancer

Beni Johnson, co-pastor of Bethel Church; an author; Bible teacher; intercessor; and Pastor Bill Johnson’s wife, sadly passed away after battling cancer.

Beni Johnson, co-pastor of Bethel Church, dies at 67

Bill Johnson took to his Facebook early Tuesday morning to announce the death of his wife, Beni Johnson.

The post included a picture of her Beni with the caption that she is now “healthy and free.”

In addition, he revealed that Beni died on July 13. The post had amassed more than 10,000 comments as of 11 a.m.

Bill and Beni’s son Brian Johnson, who is also a worship leader at Bethel Church, said in an Instagram post, “My mom went home tonight.” I love you mama.’

Her other son, Eric, also wrote in an Instagram post: ‘I love you mom. See you on the other side.’

Also, the couple’s only daughter, Leah Valenzuela, mentioned: ‘Mom, I love you beyond words! You have been the best mother anyone could wish for, but not only that, you have been my best friend.’

She continued: ‘It is a great honor to be your daughter. You are my hero (well and daddy). Love you! I see you in heaven!’

Beni Johnson’s health problems

Beni Johnson was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2018. During that time, she confirmed that doctors had discovered two lumps in her right breast. However, they were immediately removed.

She said in 2018: ‘When this all started in March and I walked out of the doctor’s office in shock. I asked Jesus, ‘what do I do now?’ I heard Jesus say to me, ‘just love me’. I said, ‘I can do this.’

Unfortunately, things got worse because doctors soon learned that Beni had a mutation in her BRCA2 gene, which has a higher risk of developing other types of cancer.

Regardless, in February of this year, the Redding, California-based Bethel Church began a prayer campaign for the health of its pastor. They asked believers to support them after it was reported that Beni was having difficulty breathing.

In one of their posts, they wrote: ‘As many of you already know, Beni Johnson has been on a health journey to overcome cancer. We have been praying constantly, and she has experienced a measure of progress.’

A few days ago, the church revealed that Beni was undergoing chemotherapy treatment in hospice care at home.

Beni Johnson left behind a husband, three children, and eleven grandchildren.
