Bipolar Disorder Information

According to information on Web MD, bipolar disorder is a mental illness that severely fluctuates a person’s mood. The disorder is also known as manic depression.

People with bipolar disorder may have segments where they seem happy and full of energy. Likewise, there may be times when you feel extremely sad and hopeless. Most of the time, the person may feel normal during the interval between the two moods.

Few symptoms of manic episodes (the highs) are hope and excitement. People may feel like they have more energy and don’t need to sleep.

Also, some symptoms seen during the depressive period (the low) are sadness, loss of energy, and difficulty concentrating.
