New fight footage shows Trae Tha Truth’s involvement in Z-Ro’s beating

A video has surfaced online showing Trae Tha Truth kicking and punching Z-Ro likely outside of 50 Cent’s celebrity basketball game.

Here is everything you need to know.

Trae Tha Truth jumped on Z-Ro during 50 Cent’s Tycoon weekend

TMZ Hip Hop got the new clip on Thursday, September 2. In the video, we can see Trae Tha Truth attacking Z-Ro along with his four crew members.

As the footage progresses, we see one of Trae’s friends snatching the gold chain from Z-Ro’s neck.

Additionally, the clip contradicts Trae Tha Truth’s version of events when he denied that Z-Ro was outnumbered during the fight.

The 42-year-old rapper took to Instagram on Tuesday, August 30, to explain the incident.

He stated, “It wasn’t a 7-on-1 situation.”

The Texas native further added: ‘It was not a surprise ambush. That’s not what it is. This is a family business, internal things that have been going on for 10, 15 years that have probably been building up and turning into shit.

He further continued: ‘There is no hate for that man. I will never let anyone hurt or harm you.

However, the new footage of the fight calls into question all the claims made by Trae Tha Truth.

Z-Ro offers his side of the story

Z-Ro sat down with TMZ shortly after news broke that Trae Tha Truth and his friends attacked him outside 50 Cent’s home in Houston over the weekend.

He shared, ‘[I was] minding my own business and when I went for a walk. They call me to the side of the sprinter van and [Trae] It was like, “Oh, when you’re done doing that. Come take this ride with me right now.”

The 45-year-old added: ‘I was like, ‘Are you talking to me?’ I had to make sure he was talking to me because I mean, I see you everywhere, you see me everywhere. So when I walked over there, the only thing I saw after that was this [gestures to being punched in the face].’

Z-Ro, whose real name is Joseph Wayne McVey IV, is a cousin of Trae Tha Truth and a former partner at ABN (Assholes By Nature). The reason behind the fallout from him remains uncertain as of now.

However, the Missouri native shared: ‘I thought it was going to be a change. I thought it was a conversation that needed to be had. I guess over the last decade… It would have been something I would have appreciated, the conversation.’
