Meghan Markle did not appear alongside her husband, Prince Harry, when he was summoned to Balmoral Castle following the news of Queen Elizabeth’s death.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

During the interview, Nicholl shared that Meghan Markle was not extended an invitation to join the royal family during Queen Elizabeth’s final hours.

She stated: “It is understood that the family wanted Prince Harry to be there, even though he was unable to make it to Balmoral in time to see his grandmother.”

He further said: “But Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was not, to our knowledge, invited to join the family.”

Nicholl then added: “She has said she is going to Balmoral another time.” But I think it’s quite significant that Prince Harry traveled to Balmoral alone without his wife.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were scheduled to attend the WellChild Awards in London when news broke of Queen Elizabeth’s deteriorating health.

Therefore, the couple canceled their appearance and immediately rushed to Scotland to be at the Queen’s bedside. Although it was initially reported that Markle would be joining her husband of 37 years, she was caught arriving alone.

Meanwhile, Kate Middleton was also absent at the time of Her Majesty’s passing. She remained in Windsor with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The former American actress was booked to appear on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, September 20.

A source told Page Six: “Meghan was meant to be at Fallon.”

They added: ‘I don’t even know what I was going to talk about, but that’s obviously canceled now.’

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex has also delayed her next episode of her controversial podcast, Archetypes. New episodes of the podcast stream every Tuesday on Spotify.

Meanwhile, King Charles III, Harry’s father, spoke of them in his first public address on Friday.

He said: “I also want to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives abroad.”
