Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has said that Margot Robbie could replace Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean 6.
Depp is currently busy with his brutal trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The actress herself wrote a 2018 opinion piece in The Washington Post, where she claimed that she was a survivor of domestic violence.
Depp filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard, listing that her alleged allegations destroyed his reputation and career.
After publication, Depp was cut from several big-budget films, such as Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean series. He was replaced by Mads Mikkelsen as Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Jerry Bruckheimer discussed the future of Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

Regardless, fans are divided on whether Robbie will replace Depp in the indecisive Pirates of the Caribbean 6.
There was previously speculation that Matthew McConaughey and Joaquin Phoenix would be Depp’s possible replacements in the POTC series. However, loyal Depp fans have refused to see other actors rehearse for the iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow.
Some fans are reluctant to accept Margot Robbie as the lead in Pirates of the Caribbean.
Will Johnny Depp ever return as Jack Sparrow?
The odds of Johnny Depp returning as Jack Sparrow are somewhat non-existent.
Granting that if Disney decides to offer Depp to star in Pirates of the Caribbean 6, however, the problem arises that the 58-year-old star might not be more interested in the hypothetical deal.
In the midst of his trial, Depp revealed that he will not be working with Disney in the future. He said that after Disney fired him, he felt ‘betrayed’.
The actor further mentioned that he worked very hard to bring the famous pirate character to life in the previous five films.
He added that Sparrow deserved to say a proper goodbye to his fans rather than have the rug abruptly pulled out from under him.
