Bella Hadid made history when she walked for Coperni during Paris Fashion Week 2022 on Friday, September 30.
The 25-year-old model appeared on the catwalk topless covering her breasts and wearing only a pair of underwear and heels.
Shortly after, however, a team of stuntmen strategically began spraying thick white latex around Hadid’s torso as she lay motionless.
In addition, a solid mid-length dress consisting of a high slit and off-the-shoulder sleeves eventually began to form. The team elegantly placed it on Hadid before she left for the French brand’s fashion show grand finale.
It should be noted that the minimalist Coperni dress is designed by the CEO of Fabrican Ltd, Dr. Manel Torres. Furthermore, he also invented spray weaving.
Coperni Opens Up About Bella Hadid’s Futuristic Spray Dress
Coperni referred to Bella Hadid’s memorable dress as a theatrical demonstration and an example of a ‘futuristic fusion of science and fashion’.
The brand’s co-founders, Sebastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, who married on a secluded Greek island, spoke to the media ahead of the fashion show.
During the interaction, they stated that their fashion brand is recognized for pushing the boundaries of fashion and technology.
In addition, Vaillant mentions: “It is our celebration of the silhouettes of women from centuries past.”
Meyer, on the other hand, says, “We wanted to update our aesthetic in a more adult and scientific way as well.”
Afterwards, Vaillant continued: ‘We wanted to dedicate this moment to Dr. Torres because we have a lot of respect for what he does. We felt it was absolutely necessary for him to direct the performance, for us, that makes the experience even more magical.’
