Lana Parrilla’s Instagram drama explained

Lana Parrilla steps forward to respond to the backlash she received for her connection to Ryan Adams.

Here is everything you need to know.

Why was Lana Parrilla criticized on Instagram?

On August 3, some users discovered an exchange between Lana Parrilla and Ryan Adams in the comments section of one of her Instagram photos.

In the exchange, the duo shared heart emojis that sparked rumors that they might secretly see each other. However, fans of Parrilla believe that the actress has a friendly relationship with him.

If you didn’t know, Adams was previously accused of sexual misconduct by his ex-wife Mandy Moore, Phoebe Bridgers and five other women in the early months of 2019.

However, the composer denied the accusations. In addition, he wrote a series of tweets and apologized to anyone he “ever hurt.”

One of his tweets read: ‘I am not a perfect man and have made many mistakes. To anyone I have hurt, however unintentionally, I deeply and unreservedly apologize.’

The Jacksonville native’s attorney, Andrew B Brettler, also denied the “extremely serious and outlandish allegations.”

Regardless, Adams issued a formal apology via letter in The Daily Mail in 2020.

In his lengthy letter, he wrote: “There is no way to convince people that this time is really different, but this is the burden I deserve to take with me as a result of my actions.”

Additionally, users accused Parrilla of dating Adams and replayed their past accusations. However, she was repeatedly criticized for her link to Adams.

Some fans came out in defense of Lana Parrilla

While some fans were trying to ruin Lana Parrilla’s career and reputation for being friends with Ryan Adams, others shared messages of support with her.

Parrilla also responded to some of them. She admitted in one of the tweets that the trolls didn’t bother her in the least as she had been through much worse.

However, the actress released a statement to address the non-essential backlash she was receiving on social media platforms.

Parrilla said she had the freedom to choose who she wants in her life and who she doesn’t.

She further wrote: ‘They are rude, hurtful and insulting to my intelligence. Please stop. Thank you.’

Parrilla noted that he prefers to give people the “benefit of the doubt.” He also stated that he strongly believes in the ‘culture of compassion’.
