Kodak Black charged with possession of oxycodone pills

On Friday, Kodak Black was driving through Fort Lauderdale in his Dodge Durango when police pulled him over for a traffic stop in Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol claimed that its officers made a traffic stop at nearly 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 15.

According to TMZ, the rapper was asked by police to pull over because they suspected the windows of his truck were tinted darker than the allowed limit.

Additionally, Florida police officers began smelling marijuana as soon as they approached his vehicle.

Shortly after, authorities searched the car and recovered 31 oxycodone pills with $74,960 in cash.

Additionally, officials later learned that Black’s vehicle registration and driver’s license had expired.

The outlet added that the Codeine Dreaming artist was later booked into the Broward County jail on unspecified charges.

Kodak Black’s latest run-ins with the law

Kodak Black, who was born Dieuson Octave but later changed his legal name to Bill Kahan Kapri, was charged with carjacking as a high school student.

Furthermore, the 25-year-old singer had been in and out of jail for different crimes several times throughout his young career.

In 2019, the Pompano Beach rapper was arrested for weapons possession and sentenced to four years in prison. Regardless, his sentence was commuted by former President Donald Trump after Black served almost half of the term.

He was also pardoned by Trump last year when he was arrested for breaking and entering on New Year’s Day.

Consequently, Black avoided spending more time behind bars in 2021 and accepting a plea deal after he was charged with raping a teenager in 2016.

The Atlantic Records recording artist was scheduled to play E11EVEN at Rolling Loud Weekend in Miami on July 22.

Black released his fourth studio album, Back for Everything, on February 25 of this year. The record included hit singles like Let Me Know and Grinding All Season.

The musician’s all-time hits are No Flockin’, Super Gremlin, Roll in Peace and Pimpin Ain’t Eazy.

Black released his debut studio album titled Painting Pictures in 2017. The album reached number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, which more or less propelled him into prominence.
