Gunna receives support from Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian recently took to Twitter to show her support for Gunna, who was arrested on gang-related charges a couple of months ago.
The aspiring lawyer wrote “#FreeGunna” on her Twitter account and also shared it on her official Instagram story.
The social media star also posted an emoji that read ‘Free’ and the letter ‘P’, possibly referring to Gunna’s song titled ‘pushin P’.
Regardless, the business mogul’s endorsement of Gunna caused quite a stir on the internet with people divided over whether or not Kardashian should provide legal services to the rapper.
If you didn’t know, the 41-year-old actress is studying to be a lawyer and is reportedly apprenticing at a firm.
She revealed her plans to become a lawyer in 2019 and follow in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Kardashian.
The SKIMS founder passed her baby bar exam in December 2021 after several failures.
She said at the time: ‘For anyone who doesn’t know my path through law school, please know that this was not easy nor was it handed to me.’
All About Gunna’s Arrest
Gunna along with fellow rapper Young Thug were arrested by police earlier this year in May on gang related and drug possession charges.
Additionally, 28 other defendants affiliated with the YSL record label were booked along with Gunna and Young Thug.
According to legal documents, the group’s charges list murder, drug and weapons possession, witness intimidation, vehicle theft, robbery and larceny.
Gunna is currently being held in a Georgia jail for violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
Pusher P broke his silence about the situation by writing a letter claiming his innocence. Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, also claimed that he is being ‘falsely accused’.
The 29-year-old musician wrote: ‘The image that is painted of me is ugly and false. My fans know that I love to celebrate life. I love my family, I love to travel, I love music, I love my fans.’
In addition, he continued, ‘I have every faith that God will do me justice for the purity of my heart and the innocence of my actions.’
Additionally, the artist’s attorneys, Donald F. Samuel, John A. Garland and Kristen W. Novay, shared a statement addressing Gunna’s arrest.
They said: ‘Mr. Sergio Kitchens, known as Gunna, is innocent. The indictment falsely portrays his music as part of a criminal conspiracy.
