Kate McKinnon revealed why she left Saturday Night Live

Kate McKinnon recently sat down with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest for an episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan on ET.

During the interview, the actress shared the real reason behind leaving Saturday Night Live after being on the show for almost a decade.

She said that her decision to leave the show was not an easy one.

McKinnon mentioned during the interview: “I thought about it for a long time and it was very, very difficult.”

He further added, “All I ever wanted to do in my entire life was be on ‘Saturday Night Live.'” So, I did it, I loved it, I had the best decade, and then I thought my body was tired and I felt like it was time.

Additionally, McKinnon also revealed that he still won’t be watching Saturday Night Live even though his future in the industry remains uncertain.

She said, ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t know if I can watch the show yet because it’s too emo because I miss everyone so much.

The 38-year-old comedian has developed friendships with her cast members, so she’s not sure about watching the show for the emotions it can bring.

She continued: ‘It’s my family. It’s too emotional. So, I think I’m just going to grab ‘The Bachelorette’ and watch it.”

Kate McKinnon joined Saturday Night Live in 2012. She had won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

In addition, he competes for the title for the third time. McKinnon is nominated for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, which is scheduled for September 12.

McKinnon is recognized for her portrayal of Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Justin Bieber, Lindsey Graham, and Ellen DeGeneres.

Rumors began circulating in May of this year that McKinnon will not be joining the legendary sketch series for its 48th season. The news was later confirmed by the actress herself when she announced her departure from the show.

McKinnon said goodbye with the final episode of the 47th season. He left the long-running series along with his co-stars Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Pete Davidson.
