She admitted, ‘I thought of [leaving] for a long time, and it was very, very hard.’
The 38-year-old comedian added: “All I ever wanted to do in my whole life was be on Saturday Night Live.” So, I did it, I loved it, I had the best decade, and then I thought my body was tired and I felt like it was time.
Additionally, Seacrest asked McKinnon if he could tune in for new episodes of the show later this year.
However, the artist responded by saying that she is still figuring it out. She also shared that she is not sure about revisiting Studio 8H so soon after leaving the series.
McKinnon replied: ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t know if I can watch the show yet because it’s too emo because I miss everyone so much. It’s my family, it’s too emo. So I think I’m going to record ‘The Bachelorette’ and watch that instead.’
