Kanye West Exits Rolling Loud 2022 Miami Headliner Set

Kanye West, who was to headline Rolling Loud in the coming days, suddenly pulled out of the festival.

Here is everything you need to know.

Why did Kanye West pull out of Miami’s Rolling Loud?

Rolling Loud took to Twitter to break the news of Kanye West’s departure from the music festival’s main set.

They wrote, “Due to circumstances beyond our control, Ye will no longer be performing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022.”

The official account further announced that rapper Kid Cudi will now replace the 45-year-old fashion mogul at the upcoming event.

Also, the departure of West, now going by the name Ye, comes just five days before the music festival.

Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler, the co-founders of Rolling Loud released a statement to explain the reason for the rapper’s abrupt departure from Donda.

They said, ‘We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer act.

The duo continued, “This is the first time a headliner has landed our show and while we don’t take it lightly, we wish him well.” We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and can’t wait to see what he has in store.”

Kanye West and Kid Cudi’s relationship

Fans were shocked when Rolling Loud announced Kid Cudi as Kanye West’s replacement at the music festival.

Ye and Kid Cudi share an extensive history in both professional and personal lives.

If you didn’t know, the businessman helped launch Cudi’s career as a producer when he signed him to his Good Music label in 2008.

Additionally, Cudi released his first three studio albums under Ye’s label before announcing his departure in 2013. Regardless, the 38-year-old musician went on to state that he was still on good terms with Ye.

Additionally, the duo joined forces to release a self-titled collaborative record titled Kids See Ghosts in 2018.

However, Cudi and Ye’s friendship hit a rough patch earlier this year in April 2022.

West was reportedly unimpressed with Cudi’s friendship with Pete Davidson, who is in a relationship with Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

In a now-deleted tweet, the hip-hop artist noted, “Just so everyone knows, [Kid] Cudi won’t be in Donda 2′ because he’s friends with you know who.
