Kanye West brings the Yeezy Gap line to Time Square

The Time Square Gap Stores are set to become the first physical retailer to offer the Yeezy Gap line. Kanye West products in collaboration with Gap can now be purchased in person at a select variety of stores.
Here is everything you need to know.
Kanye West’s Yeezy Gap Will Take Over Time Square
It was announced on Wednesday that the Yeezy Gap line will take over the Gap New York City flagship store in Times Square for the first time. The products will be available soon at select Gap stores in the United States.
The big event will take place on Thursday, July 21st and will start at 10am sharp.
According to a press release, the space “has been redesigned and distilled to its most essential form at Yeezy Gap Designed by Balenciaga’s vision of utilitarian design.”

They added: “The entrance to the Gap stores fulfills the vision of offering the Yeezy Gap design on a larger scale.”
In this redesigned store, clothes are stacked in mounds instead of displayed on hangers or mannequins.
Regardless, we can expect a long line of people outside Gap stores soon. Merchandise will also soon be available on the brand’s official website.
Upcoming Yeezy Gap products will include a variety of clothing such as t-shirts, hoodies and sweatpants. They will also consist of cargo pants and hats that consumers will be able to purchase in person at stores.
A selection of items from Ye’s collaboration with Balenciaga Creative Director Demna will also be available for purchase.
Kanye West and Gap collaboration
Kanye West’s history with Gap dates back to the singer’s documented college dropout days when he was working as a retail clerk for the company.
The Yeezy Gap collaboration was first announced in the summer of 2020. Mark Breitbard, Gap’s global head at the time, shared that their partnership will provide customers with a “next level” experience.

Breitbard continued: “We are excited to welcome Kanye back to the Gap family as a creative visionary, building on the aesthetic and success of his YEEZY brand and together defining a next-level retail partnership.”
In the years that followed, the Breitbard statement proved to be an accurate prediction with several subsequent successes.
One of these included the release of the long-discussed Perfect Hoodie. It also consisted of Yeezy, Gap and Balenciaga collectively launching a “creative exploration”.
A couple of days before the Yeezy Gap announcement, West claimed that the aforementioned hoodie’s black colourway “sold for $14 million… in a TV commercial that once aired.” “.
