Johnny Depp appears as Moon Person at the MTV VMAs
Johnny Depp stunned the audience at the MTV Video Music Awards as he loomed over them with the show’s silver astronaut mascot.
However, Depp’s face was digitally added inside an astronaut’s helmet, which is an inspiration for the network’s moon person statue. Also, his appearance was apparently pre-recorded.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor appeared briefly during the live ceremony to make random jokes and comments.
At the beginning of the show, Depp was heard saying: ‘And you know what? He needed the job.
Additionally, it floated over the Prudential Center arena in a later segment. This time mentioning, ‘Hey VMAs, let’s get back to the fucking music, okay?’
Anyway, he also made a cameo and offered his professional services after the performance of Jack Harlow, Fergie and Lizzo.
According to Deadline, he said, “I just want you to know that I’m available for birthdays, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, weddings, wakes.” Anything old you need. ANYTHING, whatever. So, oh, I’m also a dentist.
The Edward Scissorhands actor used his Instagram account to share the video of his appearance at the awards show.
He described the post with a caption that read: ‘Guess who? #VMA’.
LL Cool J, Jack Harlow and Nicki Minaj were the hosts of this year’s MTV VMAs. Additionally, Minaj went on to receive the Vanguard Award at the event.
