Jeffrey Dahmer’s prosecutor talks about the new Netflix series
Netflix’s new series ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ is generating a lot of excitement among viewers around the world.
However, former Milwaukee District Attorney Michael McCann appears to be unimpressed with the program. For the inexperienced, McCann personally prosecuted Jeffrey Dahmer in the ’90s.
He recently sat down for an interview with TMZ where he shared his thoughts on Netflix’s latest true crime drama.
During the interview, McCann noted that the characterization of the Milwaukee Police Department in the series is ridiculous. He was referring to the show’s portrayal of cops ignoring obvious leads because the case included gay and/or black people.
Additionally, McCann admitted that he has yet to watch the series. However, he suspects that the streaming platform will likely portray the show as anti-police.
McCann added that the episodes will lean more towards perceived racial and homophobic bias.

During the interview, Michael McCann denied the characterization of the police officers in the Netflix series. He stated that neither race nor sexual orientation had influenced the police’s decision to investigate the Jeffrey Dahmer case.
Additionally, McCann mentioned that if the police had known about Dahmer’s heinous crimes, they would have taken instant action to prevent it despite the victims’ backgrounds.
He further explained that Dahmer’s motive did not allow the truth to be revealed earlier. In addition, she added that Dahmer covered his tracks well and did not leave much evidence for the police to suspect him.
How was Jeffery Dahmer caught?
In July 1991, Jeffery Dahmer met 32-year-old Tracy Edwards at a local Milwaukee pub. She invited him to her apartment insisting that Tracy should model some of her pictures.
However, the bad smell in Dahmer’s apartment raised red flags in Tracy’s head. Afterwards, she somehow managed to escape from the place.
Fortunately, Tracy was able to contact two police officers and told them the story. In addition, the police officers accompanied him to Dahmer’s apartment.
Upon investigation, they found disturbing polaroids of their dismembered human bodies. Therefore, Dahmer was immediately arrested.
Later, he confessed to killing 17 men and boys. Dahmer received 16 life sentences for rape, murder, dismemberment, and cannibalism.
