Henry Ruggs III Accident: Former LA Raiders Player About to Face Additional Charges

Henry Ruggs may have to spend several years in prison now. The Las Vegas Raiders star was drunk when he crashed his car, killing a young woman.

The accident occurred on November 3 at 3:39 am. Henry Ruggs was drunk while he was driving at a speed of 156 mph. He tried to stop the car a few seconds before the accident, however, his Chevrolet Corvette collided with a Toyota-Rav-4. The Toyota belonged to a 23-year-old woman, Tina Tintor, who was sitting in her car with her dog Max when Ruggs’ car crashed. It was within seconds that the car caught fire and killed Tina and her pet dog.
Ruggs knew he had committed a crime but no amount of regret could undo the incident. A video went viral where he was sitting on a sidewalk, a few meters from the car and crying. While his girlfriend, Rudy Washington, who was present in the car with him, was yelling and screaming for help. Both also suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital. The next day, he appeared in court in a wheelchair. An investigation revealed that he was not only speeding, but his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit. A loaded gun was also found in his car.

Charges against Henry Ruggs III –
The charges filed against Henry Ruggs include: felony DUI resulting in death, possession of a loaded weapon which is a misdemeanor, drunk driving. Not forgetting that felony charges were added because his girlfriend also suffered in the accident.
However, Ruggs was released on bail after posting $150,000, but is still under house arrest. He is being tested for alcohol four times a day because he cannot use his ankle monitor due to his injuries. He has surrendered his passport and he is not allowed to leave Las Vegas for now. Under other bail conditions, he is not allowed to drive. He is also not allowed to drink alcohol. His next court hearing is scheduled for November 10.

While Ruggs is getting a lot of flak, some have also come forward and supported him during this crucial time.
Derek Carr who is also a Raiders player said: “He needs people to love him right now. He’s probably feeling a certain way about himself right now. He needs to be loved. If no one else does it, I’ll do it.” Alabama coach Nick Saban also gave his support to Henry Ruggs. He said: “These consequences will probably be quite devastating for Henry. We love it. We will support him through this, but we also have a lot of compassion for the victims, and our thoughts and prayers are with them as well.”
