Simon Cowell’s production company is reportedly facing a multi-million dollar claim from previous contestants of the reality talent show known as the X Factor, according to a report. The Daily Mirror reports that the TV show, which ran for quite some time, caused dismay from the five independent contestants and one group act.
One of the previous artists spoke about “tears, injuries and anxiety” and each of the six acts claims that The X Factor caused the alleged harassment, abuse and neglect. The plaintiffs are moving towards a law firm with the aim of suing for a total excess of £1 million (NZ$1.92 million).
The report does not name the individuals in question, however it does say that one petitioner described the experience of going to the program as a horrendous experience that has caused suffering for years. I and five previous acts have agreed to come together and get the justice we think we deserve. The artist added that each of the six felt that his pimping potential had been curtailed by the real effects of his alleged trauma.
Simon Cowell must take responsibility, the plaintiff explained in the Daily Mirror. We lost a lot of cash from having times in our lives where we didn’t bring money to deal with the really trauma embedded in the show.
