Fans Demand a Refund After Kid Cudi Replaces Kanye at Rolling Loud Festival

After it was revealed that Kid Cudi would be replacing Kanye West in Rolling Loud, furious fans demanded a refund.

After the 45-year-old rapper abruptly stepped down, the music festival’s official Twitter account announced the change on Sunday, July 17.

Ye will no longer appear at Rolling Loud Miami 2022 due to events beyond his control, they announced. Thanks for having me, @KiDCuDi!

People reacted quickly to the news, many of whom begged for their money back. One concertgoer yelled, “I demand a fucking refund!”

Adding a second, “Booooooo, give me my money back,” said a fourth, adding, “Brother, I already spent over $2,000 on my trip. When I was 18, I worked hard to see my favorite artist of all time, only for him to cancel a few days early. I find it difficult to express my current feelings. Everything I sell has Kanye’s name on it.”

Despite this, the lineup change was accepted by at least one person. Another commenter welcomed Cudi saying, “With open ARMS.”

“The biggest hip-hop festival in the world”

According to the Rolling Loud website, the music event is the “world’s largest hip-hop festival.” The “Praise God” rapper, now known as Ye, was scheduled to perform onstage with 2 Chainz, Lil Yachty, Saweetie and others just five days before pulling out.

Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler, co-founders of Rolling Loud, released a statement following the unexpected restructuring. “We were excited for Ye to perform at Rolling Loud Miami in 2022. He, his staff, and I worked on acting for months. Unfortunately, Ye has made the decision to stop touring.”

The note went on to say, “Although we don’t take it lightly because this is the first headliner to cancel for us, we wish him well. We are excited to have Kid Cudi act as the main attraction in Miami and can’t wait to hear what he has in store.”

The Atlanta, Georgia native was expected to cancel, according to some. In June 2022, a follower who had previously said, “He’s not coming,” tweeted, “Told everyone. He added a second: “What’s going on? You give up every party, damn it.

With less than two weeks to go, the father of four, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, bowed out as the headlining act of Coachella in April.
