Hollywood diva Emily Blunt has teamed up with Ryan Gosling in Universal’s upcoming film The Fall Guy. The project will be directed by Bullet Train filmmaker David Leitch, who was inspired by the venerable 1980s series of the same name. The film’s screenplay was written by Drew Pearce, who collaborated with director David Leitch on Universal’s Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw. Plot details have been kept under wraps.

The first season of the Glen A. Larson show ran on ABC from 1981 to 1986. It starred Lee Majors as a Hollywood stuntman who takes a second job as a bounty hunter to supplement his income. Heather Thomas and Douglas Barr played his partner and a stunt partner, respectively. Through their 87North shingle, Leitch and Kelly McCormick will create the project. Gosling and Guymon Casady of Entertainment 360 will collaborate on production. The film will begin shooting in Australia later this year and will hit theaters on March 1, 2024.
Blunt is currently working on a new Universal project. He recently acted alongside Dwayne Johnson in A Quiet Place II and Jungle Cruise. The actor is a member of the Oppenheimer cast, which also includes Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon.
