Debunked: Wendy Williams’ Alleged Marriage To NYPD, Daytime Talk Show Host Rumors
Writer and TV personality Wendy Williams revealed to Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee on Tuesday, August 2, that she married a New York Police Department (NYPD) officer. She added that this alleged husband’s name was Henry.
However, Williams’ manager, William Selby, informed Page Six that she is not married to the police officer and may have made these claims out of emotion. The 58-year-old New Jersey native withheld any other information about her alleged nuptials from Henry, a New York police officer.
Despite Selby’s claims, Williams stated in her response to Hollywood Unlocked founder and host Jason Lee’s query about her nuptials that she had recently married. Williams at the time informed Lee on the phone call saying: “I’m married…I got married…I got married last week.”

In the interview, Wendy Williams avoided going into more detail about her alleged husband Henry, an alleged New York police officer. The television presenter, however, did not mention his identity or position within the division.
Her alleged manager, William Selby, spoke to Page Six after the interview and had this to say: “That’s wrong… She got carried away talking presumably because she’s eager for a new connection.
According to Radar Online, Selby and Williams were once said to have been dating. Selby allegedly had a romantic relationship with Williams in 2020 after she finalized her divorce from her partner Kevin Hunter, according to the newspaper.
Previous claims of a romance involving Wendy Williams were refuted
After 23 years of marriage, Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter split in 2020, citing irreconcilable differences and refusing to pay each other alimony. Williams stated that she began dating a doctor who was allegedly in her 50s shortly after she filed for divorce in 2019. On her show at the time, she opened up about the alleged relationship. Wilson stated:
“I am no longer available. Not in love, I say. I have no idea how I am. I’m not in a relationship, but there is someone I’m passionate about. It’s not who you believe.
Dr. Darrin Porcher, who had previously been associated with her, turned down dating her a few days after she made her announcement.
Wendy Williams never revealed to the public that she was dating Dr. Porcher. She allegedly had a relationship with the former police officer who is now a doctoral fellow, according to multiple accounts. Despite these accusations, it is still unknown if Wendy Williams’ claims about her marriage are true.
Although Henry the mystery man hasn’t been addressed in the media, Wendy Williams may have alluded to him in a post from a year ago. Williams posted a photo of herself in a car with her alleged lover on social media in August 2021. It could have happened while celebrating her son Kevin Hunter Jr.’s birthday. The caption to the photo read:
“My son got everything he wanted from his 21st birthday celebration on the yacht in #Miami! including my boyfriend. However, the article has now been withdrawn.
