Comedian Kathy Griffin announces lung cancer diagnosis

Comedian and actress, Kathy Griffin is recovering from lung cancer surgery. She mentioned in a tweet that a part of her lung was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Kathy had stage 1 lung cancer. But the doctors said she will recover quickly. “The surgery went well and as planned, she is now recovering and resting,” Griffin’s representative, Alex Spieller, said.

To this, Griffin tweeted: “Yes I have lung cancer even though I never smoked!” He added that his cancer, which is “contained in my left lung,” is stage 1. But his doctors are very optimistic.

Griffin went on to say that he would be starting his daily routine very soon. Also, there will be no need for chemotherapy or radiation. He even mentioned that if she had not been fully vaccinated for COVID-19then the consequences could be more serious.

Kathy reveals her struggle with addiction

Previously, Emma Award winner Kathy Griffin revealed that she had struggled with drug addiction, in an interview with ABC News.

After his controversy over an accessory resembling former President Donald Trump’s severed head, he even attempted suicide.

His condition became so pathetic that he couldn’t even brush his teeth or do basic things. So her husband Randy Bick used to help her. Griffin is now in recovery and is very optimistic for her future.

In July 2017, Griffin shaved his head in honor of his sister battling cancer. This shows his immense care and courtesy towards his family. She has bravely overcome her addiction and lung cancer.
