Chelsea Handler and Jo Koy have officially split after less than a year of dating and almost fifteen years of friendship.

Chelsea Handler took to her Instagram to break the news of her split from Jo Koy ahead of their one year anniversary.

She wrote in the caption: ‘In anticipation of celebrating our first year together, Jo and I shot this video early. As many of you may have noticed, it is with great sadness that we announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship at this time.

The 47-year-old TV presenter had nothing but kind words for her now ex-boyfriend.

She said: ‘This man opened his heart to me with love and thanks to him, my life experience has changed forever. Being loved and adored by @jokoy has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. He renewed my faith in men, in love.’

According to sources, Handler and Koy mutually decided to part ways after the former guest hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live nearly a month ago.

Chelsea Handler and Jo Koy’s relationship explored

Chelsea Handler and Jo Koy have been friends for almost two decades. They first met through mutual friend and comedian Jon Lovitiz before either of them were famous.

Regardless, the pair first became romantically linked in June 2021 when Handler shared several videos of hanging out with Koy on his social media.

Furthermore, they officially announced their relationship on Instagram in September of last year.

A month later, in October, the duo shared that their friendship turned into something more after spending a “romantic comedy” week together in Los Angeles.

Also, while speaking with Hoda and Jenna for TODAY magazine, The Chelsea Handler: Evolution star opened up about her romance with the comedian.

She noted: ‘I think it was therapy. I went to therapy and I was able to see things through a different lens, and then I had this great guy in my life who just wore me out, and then I capitulated.

On the professional front, Handler is set to head out soon on a comedy tour for the rest of 2022.

Koy, on the other hand, is busy promoting his upcoming movie Easter Sunday in Los Angeles.
