Here is everything you need to know.
Cameron Diaz admits to having served as a drug ‘mule’
Cameron Diaz recently sat down with the Second Life podcast which comes days after the announcement broke that the Holiday star is coming out of retirement to appear in a new Netflix movie.
While discussing her difficult days as an actress, Diaz recalled an incident where she may have unknowingly carried illegal substances.
The 49-year-old celebrity shared that she moved to Paris after saving money by working as a catalog model in California after high school.
Diaz further explained that before landing her breakout role in The Mask, she was struggling as a model but got a job.
The Sex Tape actress begins: “I started working as a catalog model and made enough money to move to Paris and get an apartment, which I shared with a girl who is still one of my best friends.”
She continued: ‘I was there a full year and didn’t work a day. I couldn’t book a job to save my life. Then I got a job but actually I think I was a mule transporting drugs to Morocco, I swear to God.
Díaz added that it was in the 1990s and “they gave me a suitcase that was locked and that had my ‘costumes’ inside.”
The Charlie Angels star admitted that when she arrived in Morocco from Paris, airport officials questioned her about whether she owned the suitcase and whether or not it could be opened. However, Diaz eventually told them it wasn’t hers.
She said: ‘All the calculations in my head were blown away, like, ‘What the hell is in this suitcase?’
Diaz mentioned, “I’m this blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl in Morocco, it’s the ’90s, I’m wearing ripped jeans and platform boots and my hair is down, and this is really insecure.”
