BTS Receives Plaques After Officially Appointed Global Ambassador For World Expo 2030 Busan
BTS once again made South Korea proud on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, when they were chosen to represent the world at World Expo 2030 Busan. The naming ceremony was held at HYBE’s corporate office in the Yongsan district of Seoul. K-pop’s biggest stars received plaques as official recognition of their status as global ambassadors.
The K-pop septet showed up to the ceremony dressed smartly in suits. In addition to hosting numerous promotional events, South Korea will be represented by RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. The Busan Global Concert, which has already been confirmed for October 2022, will be the first of the planned events.
The Dynamite singers’ fanbase, known as ARMY, took to social media to share their pride in seeing their idols make history once again.

BTS Becomes Global Ambassador Of World Expo 2030 Busan, Making Fans Happy
In early July 2022, HYBE first revealed plans for K-pop sensation BTS to be appointed as the global ambassador for World Expo 2030 Busan. It was revealed that the septet will be holding a concert as part of promotional activities in Busan in the coming months. One of the nations that has submitted a bid to host the 2030 World Expo is South Korea.
On July 19, in front of the world, the Grammy-nominated K-pop group was formally chosen as an ambassador. The septet’s leader, RM, stated that the group would do their best to promote South Korea’s cause abroad.
“We are honored to be appointed ambassadors for World Expo 2030 Busan. BTS will do everything possible to help bring the 2030 World Expo to Busan. Starting with the Busan Global Concert in October, we will hold various ambassador activities.”
A notable guest during the naming ceremony was Park Heong-joon, Mayor of the Busan Metropolitan City. He expressed his views on the Butter septet’s contribution to Busan’s bid for South Korea’s World Expo 2030. He stated:
Holding the World Expo in Busan in 2030 will promote national goals and serve as a powerful impetus for balanced national growth. BTS is preparing for the Busan Global Concert in October. I am sure that through the performance, millions and billions of people around the world will support Busan’s ambition to host the World Expo in 2030.
ARMY shared the good news on social media highlighting other notable achievements of the septet. The group’s most recent achievement is serving as global ambassadors for World Expo 2030 Busan.

BTS has already represented South Korea on various international platforms. The septet blazed the trail for future K-pop idols in ways that may never be replicated, from being named Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture to being the first Korean singers called to the White House.
