High-profile Bishop Lamor Whitehead was recently arrested for assaulting a woman after a Sunday sermon.

Bishop Lamor Whitehead was arrested on September 18 for allegedly assaulting a woman during a service at his New York church.
The incident reportedly occurred in Brooklyn, where Whitehead was preaching at the Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministry near Avenue D in Canarsie on Sunday.
In the video, it appears that Whitehead and the women were in a confrontation. The woman is off camera as a bystander continues to record the incident for a live broadcast on social media.
At some point in the video, the bishop can be heard saying, ‘Do you want to come preach? Come here.
He added: ‘I’m going to make you famous.’
Additionally, Whitehead is seen telling other members of the congregation to accompany the woman. However, in the end, he forces her out of it when she is seen grabbing the woman by the back of her head and pushing her off camera.
Within an hour, however, an NYPD detective arrived at the church and handcuffed Whitehead, informing him that he was charged with assault.

Bishop Lamor Whitehead was released a couple of hours after being arrested. However, he spoke about the incident during an interview with the New York Daily News.
He claimed that he attacked women only because he thought they were a threat to him and his family.

Whitehead recalled: “He came down the center aisle and just [started] insulting me, calling me all kinds of names, calling me all kinds of things. She stormed back to my wife and 10 month old baby.
He continued: ‘She went towards my wife and that’s when I grabbed her. I grabbed her and pulled her out of my church. All I could remember was the guys with the guns who put their gun in my baby’s face.
