Billionaire Jeff Bezos engaged to Lauren Sanchez after nearly 5 years together

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez, are engaged, a person close to the pair confirms exclusively to BIIC News.

The couple is presently in Cannes, France, for the Cannes Film Festival, where they have been hitting the star-studded party circuit while staying aboard his $500 million yacht, which features a mermaid resembling Sanchez on the prow. This week, Sanchez, 53, was seen with a diamond on her ring finger, sparking rumours.

Since they began dating in 2018, the 59-year-old billionaire and television journalist have been inseparable. They began dating in 2019, but kept a low profile until his divorce from his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Scott, was finalized.

Sanchez, who travelled the world with Bezos during their courtship, announced in November 2022 that she intends to fly to space, following in the footsteps of the Blue Origin founder.

“It’ll be a great group of females,” she remarked of the probable crew for the trip.

While the former TV presenter stated that Bezos would not accompany her on the adventure, she praised him in a January interview with WSJ. Magazine.

“He’s so happy, he inspires me every day, he makes me a better person every day; he’s the most loving human I know,” she said, according to the site. She also praised the billionaire in a heartfelt birthday message in January.

“Happy birthday to the man of my dreams, who lights up my world with his laughter and kind heart,” she captioned a photo on Instagram.

“You have shown me that no great love is not fought for bravely.” Thank you for always being there for me and being such a kind and supporting partner.”

Bezos, who is worth $139 billion, also retained ownership of the Washington Post, which he purchased in 2013, as well as his space firm, Blue Origin.

Scott tweeted at the time that she was “grateful to have finished the process” of divorcing her husband “with support from each other,” and that she was “happy to be giving [Bezos] all of my interests in the Washington Post and Blue Origin, as well as 75% of our Amazon stock plus voting control of my shares, to support his continued contributions with the teams of these incredible companies.”

She married Dan Jewett, a teacher, in March 2021, but the couple divorced less than two years later. While Scott and Bezos apparently did not have a prenup, an expert told Business Insider in October 2022 that the novelist certainly secured her assets the second time around.

The specifics of their proposed prenuptial agreement, however, have not been made public.
