Anthony Fantano, a YouTuber who bills himself as “the internet’s biggest music nerd,” rarely has a good word to share about rap superstar Drake. Posting album reviews on his 2.63 million subscribers on TheNeedledrop channel, Anthony Fantano gave Drake’s most recent album, Honestly, Nevermind, a score of ‘Not Good’ out of 10 in June. Lately, he even made fun of Drake by uploading a parody video about him sending him a direct message on Instagram. The parody came to fruition on Thursday night, in any case, when the rap sensation sent his real DMs to Anthony Fantano in an Instagram story. “Your existence is a light 1. Also, the 1 is because you’re alive,” Drake reportedly wrote, ridiculing Fantano’s scoring system for album reviews. And because one way or another you married a black girl. It’s kind of unusual to see superstars come after their critics in DMs, especially since it never seems to work in their favor; however, Fantano didn’t exactly take the right path from there, posting the screenshots on his own Instagram. While the music critic didn’t respond to Drake directly on Instagram, he did have plenty of words for the rap star on Twitter and in an Instagram Live broadcast. Basically, what happened is that, for no obvious reason to me, Drake was in his feelings, as he usually is, Fantano expressed. That’s all his thing…he was a bit of a dissenter. A piquant little DM, very miserable and pitiful. On his live stream, he also defended the videos of him and said: I’m literally just offering my opinions on music.

Fantano did not continue. However, he smugly pronounced on Twitter, “That bitch shared the salty DM with over 100 million people.” She referred to Drake as “obsessed” with him, and was proud to leave the artist like “so many ladies of the past.” Fantano also considered Drake’s message a lackluster insult, since he didn’t hire a ghostwriter. Champagne Papi, aka Drake, still doesn’t appear to have responded to Fantano’s recent barrage of comments.
