ABC redesigns its logo into a simple, yet bold and elevated one

Recently, many brands like Burger King, Subway, and Pizza Hut have reverted to using simple logos. They do this to avoid extra flourishes and textures. Now, ABC also adds to this list. To do this, they are working with the company Trollback. They are trying to come back with an update that was released at the end of “Bacholertore” on August 9th. The ABC design will be rolled out across various divisions, including online as well.

They are also working with affiliates to transition their logos. The president of content and marketing for Hulu and Disney General Entertainment (included in ABC) says, “We felt it was time to evolve the overall look and feel of the network to make it a more vibrant, modern, fresh, new, bold, elevated look that visually represents our strategy and our diverse slate of programming. … We think we landed in a great place.” It seems that they are happy with the decision to revert their logo and also with the design of the logo.

Changes in the logo-

However, the change may not seem obvious to customers as the change is minimal but different. Their basic style was done by Paul Rand in 1962. They keep that every time they make changes. Over the years, they had made a lot of changes like reflections, glosses, etc. But now they are back to simplicity. The change that will be visible will be the shrinking of the letters “abc” that are inside the logo. The circle of the logo will now be the basis of the new network identification animation system. This time the logo is more flexible.

It’s good in the digital age. They made their logo readable so it would shrink down and fit into program menus or social media apps. For the past two decades, the company used a yellow font, but it changed during its “TV Is Good” era. They used a red, white and black color palette. They are using it for the last 18 years and will continue with it but with some changes. Color will include more gradients and a large number of secondary color palettes. For the font change, the company will use Haldane and GT Americ, which will be timeless, unique, bold and versatile.
