A beloved McHenry roller skating rink has been destroyed by fire, authorities said

A fire destroyed a former building used as a skating rink Friday night in McHenry, fire officials said. Firefighters from various departments spent two hours battling a fire at the old skating rink in McHenry on Friday. Fire Chief Bill Zedaker said the fire was under control. At approximately 10 p.m. Thursday night, a two-alarm fire swept through a former roller skating rink in the 900 block of Front Street. Twenty trucks were dispatched to the scene as crews battled the fire and prevented it from spreading to neighboring buildings.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and have not yet determined the reason for the fire. The track has a spectacular history in this small town. It started out as a dance hall and later became a skating rink. After many successful years, it closed for very sad reasons.
Although the officials stated that there are no injuries and that there is nothing to worry about. They have not received any life.
