Louisiana rapper JayDaYoungan has tragically passed away after he was shot outside his Bogalusa residence on Wednesday night.

According to police, JayDaYoungan, whose real name is Javorius Tykies Scott, was fatally shot in Louisiana along with his relative, Kenyatta Scott Sr.

The shooting took place around 6 p.m. The rapper was in critical condition when he was rushed to a local hospital.

According to sources, Jay was immediately rushed into surgery as he lost a substantial amount of blood.

Regardless, authorities confirmed JayDaYoungan’s death before midnight. They also reported that Scott Sr, who is allegedly the rapper’s father, was in stable condition.

In addition, the police assured that another shooting occurred in the town an hour after the fact that ended the life of the 24-year-old musician.

Officials shared that they believe both shootings are related in some way.

They wrote in a social media post: ‘Detectives are currently conducting interviews and working leads. More information will follow as it becomes available.’

Family and fans express their condolences on the death of JayDaYoungan

Following the tragedy, a number of fans and family members of JayDaYoungan took to social media to share their emotions over the news.

The rapper’s sister, Kenya, wrote, “My f*cking baby, man,” complete with sad face and broken heart emojis.

One fan mentioned: “Rest in peace Jaydayoungan one of Louisiana’s best artists again pray to her children and the rest of her family too early.”

Who was JayDaYoungan?

JayDaYoungan signed with Atlantic Records in 2017. He is recognized for his singles like 23 Island, Elimination, and Opps.

The now-late artist worked alongside top rappers like Lil Durk, Boosie Badazz, Moneybagg Yo, and Latto during his brief music career.

The young rapper also welcomed a son with social media influencer Jordan B. He often uploaded photos of his son on his official Instagram account. In fact, his latest post on the social media platform shows him playing and dancing with his son.

JayDaYoungan’s death comes after he was released from prison in June on weapons charges. It was initially ruled that he served five years behind bars, but he was released early.
